Astana to host next TurkPA meeting next March

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-speaking Countries (TurkPA) offered cooperation to a number of international organizations, said TurkPA Secretary General Ramin Hasanov at a press conference, APA reports.

He said International Parliamentary Union, NATO Parliamentary Assembly, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Conference are among the organizations addressed by TurkPA. “We think to defend interests of our countries together with the international organizations”.

The TurkPA official noted that activity of his organization is not against other organizations and countries. According to him, the Assembly represented Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan is looking forward to join Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan as well.

Hasanov said TurkPA would hold its next meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan in March, 2011. The Assembly is expected to found three new committees – humanitarian and social affairs, economy, trade and energy, law, international law and inter-parliamentary relations.

Following the press conference, TurkPA presented its official website www.turk-pa.org and then a group of journalists covering the Assembly’s activity were awarded with special prizes.
