Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry expresses opinion on military protocol signed between Russia and Armenia

Elkhan Polukhov mentioned that in 2006 while withdrawing equipment from the military bases in Batumi and Akhalkalaki cities of Georgia, Russia undertook commitment not to use the munitions sent to the military base in Gyumri, Armenia against Azerbaijan.
Protocol on the extension of the term of deployment of Russian military base in Gyumri was signed in Yerevan on August 20. According to the protocol, Russian military base undertakes security of Armenia together with the Armenian army. With this view, the Russian side will provide Armenia with modern weapons and special military equipment.
Russia is the co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group that is dealing with the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
