Hillary Clinton: â€œThere are deep, important and strong relations between US and Azerbaijanâ€

She noted that relations between the two countries covered business, education and other spheres. Azerbaijani and US servicemen serve together in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan: â€œWe think to deepen these relations more. I see Azerbaijan as a country which has a big potentialâ€.

Clinton said Azerbaijan had achieved progress in democracy, but as in other new independent states, it had problems in this sphere. Secretary of State noted that her country would support and cooperate with Azerbaijan in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.

â€œAzerbaijan has achieved reforms in energy and economic spheres. Business atmosphere has improved in the countryâ€, she said.

She noted that dialogues related to cooperation in some spheres were being continued with Azerbaijani government and NGOs: â€œIt is my first visit to Azerbaijan, but I cannot say that it will be the last. We are intending to continue the dialogueâ€.

While responding the question on possibility of cancellation of â€œ907 amendmentâ€, Clinton said that Obama Administration wanted it also as former governments, but the Congress made last decision.

Noting that Azerbaijan had achieved big progress on the way to democracy, Mammadyarov said official Baku took important steps in direction of stability, reforms and development.

Mammadyarov said that US played a significant role in the international arena: â€œUS plays very important role in security of the world. US â€“ is the guarantor of global power, peace and stability in the entire worldâ€.
