Hillary Clinton: â€œWe are ready to help Azerbaijan and its citizens in establishment of prosperous, democratic, independent and sovereign stateâ€

For the first ten minutes the meeting was open to journalists. Clinton delivered a speech at the event and answered questions of the young. She noted that her country was ready to help Azerbaijan and its citizens in establishment of prosperous, democratic, independent and sovereign state: â€œI am very optimistic about the potential of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is a strategic country having unusual history and rich resources. And it makes opportunity for developmentâ€.

The Secretary of State said that her duty was to help the activeness of democracy, freedom and the youth: â€œTechnologies are changing, but people in the US think that freedom of speech should not change and it must be ensuredâ€.

Clinton noted that Azerbaijan had achieved serious progress in this direction, but there were still a lot of works to do: â€œMoreover, cases of two bloggers also enter here. This issue was raised at todayâ€™s meetings as wellâ€.

â€œDemocracy â€“ is not also free election, it is also the freedom of mass media, freedom of legal bodies and etc. In modern conditions Mass Media can help the development of dialogues. The US is ready to help in this issue tooâ€, she said.

Note that, representatives of â€œIraliâ€, â€œDalgaâ€, ANTV, â€œGanclar Klubuâ€ attended the meeting as well.
