Araz Azimov: Azerbaijan is interested in working out the agreement on the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict soon

â€œAs stated many times, Azerbaijan is ready to work on this basis when after the liberation of the Azerbaijani territories conditions will be created for their rehabilitation, communiquÃ©s are restored, after the people return to their native lands, including Nagorno Karabakh region. This in its turn will pave the way for the coexistence of the communities in Nagorno Karabakh region, their cooperation and peaceful creative activity and determination of their legal status in the Nagorno Karabakh region within Azerbaijan Republic,â€ he said.

Araz Azimov said the statement issued by the presidents of the countries co-chairing OSCE Minsk Group provide the basis to immediately start working out an agreement on peaceful resolution of the conflict.
â€œI think, taking into account the already existing solid legal basis that comprises the resolutions of the UN Security Council, decisions and documents of the OSCE, Council of Europe, European Parliament and other international organizations, also Mein Dorf declaration and the statements of the presidents of the countries co-chairing OSCE Minsk Group, the necessity of preparing basic principles, which have transitional character for working out main agreement, drops away. I think, taking into account that the position of the international community is accurately formulated, the sides with the help of the co-chairs may start coordinating the terms of the draft agreement on the peaceful resolution of the conflict without losing time. Otherwise, the process will delay more, as working out of the basic principles does not produce practical results for the resolution, and working out the agreement on resolution will be needed. Azerbaijan is interested in working out the agreement soon and its realization on the above-mentioned basis,â€ he said.
