Ilham Aliyev: "Resolution, adopted by the European Parliament, boosts an impartial solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict"

The president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made this statement during a press conference after the extensive composition meeting with the Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov.

â€œThis resolution is very equitable, fully reveals the essence of the conflict and the concrete proposals for the withdrawal of occupational troops from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan were reflected in it. As you know, Azerbaijani lands have been under the control of Armenian occupying forces for many years. Azerbaijanis were subjected to the policy of ethnic cleansing. 20% of our lands are under occupation. Due to this occupation more than one million Azerbaijani citizens live in their homeland as refugees and displaced persons. We want this issue has found its soonest rightful solution based on the resolutions, decisions of international organizations and within the international legal norms. Any new solution, especially the resolution adopted by the European Parliament and resembling resolutions strengthen our position, in a word it boosts an impartial solution of the issue. We appreciate Bulgariaâ€™s participation in the adoption of this resolutionâ€, - the president said.
