Chairman of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers: The restoration of the rights of refugees and internally displaced persons is an inseparable part of the conflict resolution

APAâ€™s correspondent accredited in the Council of Europe reports that later Antonio Milososki answered the questions of the parliamentarians.

Member of the Azerbaijani delegation Ganira Pashayeva asked a question about the refugees and internally displaced persons.
â€œJune 20 is the World Refugee Day. I want to know your opinion of the appeal of one million refugees and IDPs of Azerbaijan â€“ the country that has no analogue for the number of the refugees and IDPs. Protection of the human rights is one of the basic principles of the Council of Europe. Armenia, the other member of the organization, has occupied Azerbaijanâ€™s territories for 15 years and do not allow one million refugees and IDPs to return home. Their fundamental rights are being violated. As chairman of the Committee of Ministers what steps are you going to take to restore the violated rights of these people?â€

Antonio Milososki said the following:
â€œI especially would like to note that you are raising another aspect in the resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. I can say that the problems of refugees and IDPs, the restoration of their rights are inseparable part of the resolution of the conflict. Moreover, the Council of Europe should be more active through the visit of the chairman of the Committee of Ministers to Azerbaijan and Armenia, give support for the continuation of the dialogue between the sides, solution of the problems of the refugees and IDPs.â€
