PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu said the exhibition indicates that Azerbaijan has various cultures.
“This exhibition demonstrates Azerbaijan’s history, culture, cultural diversity, diversity of the other peoples living in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani people respect the culture of all the ethnic peoples living in the country. There were three religions in the country in the past; Zarathustrian, Christianity and Islam. They are also the values of the Council of Europe. There are various religions and cultures in Europe and these values bring us together. The key of our success is the unity in diversity and we can see it in the exhibition,” he said.

The exhibition will last for three days. The opening ceremony of the exhibition was held in the main building of the Council of Europe. Chairman of the State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev, PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov and Azerbaijan’s permanent representative to the Council of Europe, ambassador Arif Mammadov addressed the opening ceremony. Over 50 exhibits have been brought from the history museum of Azerbaijan State Customs Committee. A part of the exhibits are antique and historical things confiscated by the Azerbaijani custom house. The aim of the exhibition is to promote Azerbaijan’s attention and care for the cultural heritage and cultural diversity and the policy pursued by the Azerbaijani government.
