General Yasar Demirbulak: Increase of terror attacks in Turkey is the result of the chain of mistakes â€“ <font color=red> EXCLUSIVE </font>

Istanbul. Mayis Alizadeh â€“ APA. â€œI think the recent happenings are not so abnormal. Why? Because its signals had been made earlier. Terrorist organizations will not lose opportunities,â€ former chief of intelligence department of the Turkish Military Air Forces, retired Lieutenant-General Yasar Demirbulak told APAâ€™s Turkey bureau while assessing the terror attacks that resulted in the death of 11 Turkish soldiers. According to him, as the losses are huge, the public has severe reaction.
â€œThe martyrs are our children, who voluntarily went to defend the motherland. There are a lot of mistakes in these losses. I think the biggest mistake is â€“ political mistake. Because nobody knows the essence of the draft â€œinitiativeâ€. Maybe those who have put forward this â€œdraftâ€ know something, but they have not shared their views yet. If the Kurdish-language television, change of some names were parts of this â€œdraftâ€, we could not see the continuation of this process. If the persons, who solemnly crossed the border eight months ago, are arrested today, it creates impression that there is no â€œdraftâ€ at hand,â€ he said.

Yasar Demirbulak did not rule out the existence of the great forces behind the ongoing processes.
â€œMilitary action requires great proficiency and combating terrorism is the hardest action in the world. It is impossible to persuade anybody that those who commit terror attack on Turkey have so broad opportunities. Combating terrorism requires the activity of a large number of specialists. The policy of â€œinitiativeâ€ was a mistake from the beginning. While calling a crowd to leave weapons one should put forward concrete proposals. If you do not think about the political consequences, you have to act bravely. The most important mistake is â€“ political mistake. Though state of emergency has not been declared in the region, the struggle is extreme. Struggle against terrorism is carried on basing on normal laws. The laws say that you can not enter the house of the terrorist without the sanction of the prosecutor. Therefore, there are a lot of imprisoned servicemen, who struggled in that region. It requires effective laws to render harmless a terrorist. You can not even fire at the house, where a terrorist is hiding and there are civilians. If the civilian is injured, you will be brought to trial. The hands and feet of the servicemen in the region are tied. This is the second mistake from political aspect,â€ he said.

The General said that it was necessary to take into account conditions in the world during the struggle against terror: â€œGaza incident is shame for humanity. But if only our people die there, then it is the result of wrong policy. Today, Egypt is the only comfortable way to Gaza, but it does not open doors. Is not Egypt or Saudi Arabia the friend of people living in Gaza siege? Why we take responsibility for everything? Do Arabic countries suffer losses every day as we?â€

Yasar Demirbulak noted that there had been permitted tactical mistakes in the struggle against terrorism: â€œBecause a lot of people are afraid of seeing the area of terror. It is not so easy to fight against terror. We fight there by suffering big losses. Two works must be done urgently for making this fight effectively. First, emergency situation must be announced in the region, apprehension of arrest must be taken from servicemen. We must empower our servicemen fighting against terror. The second, we must enter the Northern Iraq and redraw the boundary. Servicemen protecting the territory understand me well. Formerly, there were â€œred linesâ€ of the army, but we had been withdrawn after US occupation of Iraq. Those red lines must be restored now. It is not possible to overcome this emergency situation without fulfillment of these two conditions. Here must be pursued national policy. But if Prime Minister of the country enters into polemic with the army, courts, universities of the country everyday, humiliate them, one must cogitate itâ€.
