Human rights protection is one of the country’s supreme goals. No one can make us avoid this way. Our future links with the democratic development. We hope that the European Parliament will not put aside the main tendencies of the country and not be based on the principle of generalization of the different exceptional cases, while reviewing the issues about Azerbaijanâ€.
Azerbaijani parliament valued the resolution as an attempt to damage democratic image of Azerbaijan. “The resolution was prepared intentionallyâ€.
Musavat faction voted against the protest. Member of the faction Panah Huseyn said that they supported the European Parliament’s resolution and voted against the protest.
The European Parliament criticized the situation of freedoms of speech and press in Azerbaijan in its resolution adopted on December 17 and called on the government of Azerbaijan to take positive steps toward this.
