Azerbaijan-Russia Interparliamentary Commission establishes Working Group on migration problems

Briefing was held in Baku on the outcomes of the 8th meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission between Azerbaijani Parliament and Russian Federation Council, APA reports. Deputy chairperson of the Russian parliament Svetlana Orlova said discussions had been held on all spheres â€“ humanitarian, cultural, historical, legislative and political spheres. It was noted that the relations between Azerbaijan and Russia should be strengthened more. Deputy chairperson of the Russian parliament said the next meeting of the commission would be held in Russia.

Svetlana Orlova said the commissionâ€™s Working Group on migration problems had been established at the meeting, the number of the working groups reached four.

Svetlana Orlova appreciated the activity of the head of Russian representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva in Russia and the activities carried out by President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, parliamentarian Mehriban Aliyeva.

Speaking about Azerbaijan-Russia relations, Orlova appreciated the establishment of Baku branch of Moscow State University and noted that it was the first branch of the university abroad. Svetlana Orlova called it a great event.

Touching on the local elections in Azerbaijan, Svetlana Orlova said Azerbaijan had made great improvements in the practice of holding elections.
â€œIt is an important improvement to watch the voting in the polling stations through web cameras,â€ she said.

Deputy chairperson of the Russian parliament said the presidents of the two countries had high level relations.

Member of the commission from Azerbaijani side Arif Rahimzadeh said agreement had been reached to work more actively. Arif Rahimzadeh said the Working Group on migration problems would try to solve the problems.
