International scientific conference on 125th anniversary of Mahammad Amin Rasulzadeh takes place in Warsaw

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. The 8th International Caucasus Studies Conference named after Gregory Peradze is being held at the University of Warsaw, Poland. Azerbaijani embassy in Poland told APA that this year’s conference is devoted to the 125th anniversary of Mahammad Amin Rasulzadeh, outstanding socio-political figure of Azerbaijan and Caucasus, one of the founders of Azerbaijan People’s Republic. Scientists from Poland, Azerbaijan, Georgia, US, France, Germany and Turkey attended the conference.

Making a keynote speech at the conference rector of the University of Warsaw, Professor Vladimir Lengauer said Poland- Caucasus, particularly Poland-Azerbaijan relations had rich history, Mahammad Amin Rasulzadeh, who had spent the significant period of his life in Poland, played important role in the development of the relations.

Azerbaijani ambassador to Poland Vilayat Guliyev said it was noteworthy that the conference was devoted to Rasulzadeh and expressed gratitude to the organizers on behalf of the embassy.

Director of the Center for Eastern Europe Studies of the Warsaw University, Professor Yan Malitsky, Chairman of Georgian Committee on Relations with Compatriots Residing Abroad Nugzar Tsiklauri, Georgian ambassador to Poland Konstantin Kaftarashvili spoke about Rasulzadeh’s role in the political history of the Caucasus, Prometheus movement and Poland-Caucasus relations. The scientific report on the role of Rasulzadeh in Azerbaijan’s political life written by Tadeusz Swietochowski, professor of Columbia University, was distributed among the participants.
