The sides take widely different positions and I don’t think that there is a mediator in the world to be able to change this situation”, Sergei Mikheev, vice president of the Russian Political Technologies Center, told APA correspondent in Moscow. “Unfortunately no Russia, no America, no European Union nor UN is able to change the essence of the conflict. I think the negotiations should be developed to prevent dead lift. The sides will stress their commitment to the peaceful solution to the conflict in Moscow again, but on the other hand there will be no progress”.

The analyst expressed his opinion about the White House statement on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. “Both Armenia and Azerbaijan consider Nagorno Karabakh as own territory. Therefore the situation will not be changed depending on the White House statement. It doesn’t need to inflate the G8 statement. Who is G8? They can make some decision, but what they can change in real situation? If they are so skillful politicians, why they couldn’t solve one of the conflicts existed so far? The White House statement is meaningless because the interests of Azerbaijan and Armenia don’t coincide. If the sides or one of them don’t ease their position, nothing will be changed”.
