Baku. Victoria Dementeva – APA. The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan reached $333 mln during the nine months of this year, said ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Serik Primbetov at the press conference on Kazakh President’s document “Strategy 2050”, APA reports.

According to him, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan managed to maintain the volume of the turnover: “This indicator was $300 mln last year.”

The ambassador noted that after the exploitation of Kashagan field in 2017, a sharp increase was expected in trade turnover between the two countries at the expense of oil production. Currently, SOCAR and KazMunayGas are holding talks on strengthening capacity of Kurik port and Azerbaijan’s ports for transportation of Kashagan oil.

Primbetov said that the volume of grain exportation from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan made 700 000 tonnes during the nine years of this year: “These indicators are expected to reach 1 mln tonnes. In general, the annual demand of Azerbaijan for grain is 3 mln tonnes.”
