Cashless payments via plastic cards rise 27% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Ali Ahmedov – APA-Economics. The operations via plastic cards in Azerbaijan rise 20%, cashless payments – 27% year–on-year.

 

According to Central Bank of Azerbaijan, in 2012, the operations via plastic cards consumed within the country amounted AZN 877 mln, up 20% from year earlier. Te volume of operations on withdrawal of cash stood at AZN 844 mln, up 19.7% bin comparison to a year earlier. In 2012, AZN 33 mln-cashless payments were consumed via plastic cards in 2012, up 27% from 2011.

 

Share of cashless payments in operations via plastic cards made 3.8% (3.5% - IN 2011).

 

Cashless payments via POS-terminals rose 61.5% to AZN 21 mln, via ATMs – dropped 7.7% to AZN 21 mln.

 

Totally, the operations via plastic cards rose 20% to AZN 926 mln in 2012.
