Bank deposits of Azerbaijani population exceeds AZN 5 bn

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of January 1, 2013, population’s deposits in Azerbaijan-based banks made AZN 5,113.4 mln, up AZN 993.6 mln or 24.1% from a year earlier.

Note that, dynamics of bank deposits is one of main indicators characterizing banking system and show the level of reliability of population towards the banks. Bank deposits are important for evaluation of mid-term perspectives of the banks. Besides, from macroeconomic viewpoint, the indicators on bank deposits reflect saving ability of population. During recent years Azerbaijan observes 25-35% growth rate on bank deposits, and this can be considered as a highest indicator.
