Azerbaijani President receives IMFâ€™s deputy director of Middle East and Central Asia Department

According to Kähkönen, IMF was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan. He said that Azerbaijan is one of the most rapidly developing countries in the world for economic growth and underlined the importance of development of non-oil sector in Azerbaijan.

President Ilham Aliyev said lots of work had been done in Azerbaijan to decrease the dependence of economy on oil-gas sector. The President noted non-oil sector grew by 10% last year describing this as a result of the implementation of successful programs in ICT, industry, agriculture and other spheres.

They also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and IMF.
