Baku - APA-Economics. Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev met with the members of the board of directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
According to APA-Economics, before the meeting, EBRD members got acquainted with the presentation on socio-economic successes of Azerbaijan at Baku Business Center.
Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev said that the second consulting visit of Board members to Azerbaijan is an indicator of successful cooperation between the bank and Azerbaijan. It was noted that EBRD invested $2.1 bn in Azerbaijan within the 117 project, so far. Touching upon large potential for diversification of the bank’s loan portfolio in Azerbaijan, the minister noted the importance of bank’s practice in agriculture, activity of industrial parks. He invited EBRD to enhance the activity in direct financing of private institutions and share capital.
In turn, Board Director for the United Kingdom, Jonathan Ockenden said that Azerbaijan’s achievements in economy are in the focus of the bank’s attention. He expressed sureness in further continuation of successful cooperation between the EBRD and Azerbaijan.
