Azerbaijan-based banks see rise in foreign liabilities

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of November 1, 2012, total foreign liabilities of Azerbaijan-based commercial banks made AZN 2,845.3 mln, by rising AZN 473.3 mln or 20.0%.

Central Bank fop Azerbaijan says foreign liabilities rose AZN 7.6 mln or 0.3% in October.

At the same time, as of November 1, 2012, banks’ total foreign assets stood at AZN 968.8 mln, up AZN 227.1 mln or 13.0% in comparison to a year earlier. In October, these assets slipped AZN 9.5 mln or 0.5%.

Consequently, balance of commercial banks in foreign financial operations was AZN 876.5 mln, up 39.1% compared to a year ago.
