Annual inflation reaches 15% in Baku

ERC says the inflation made 1.72% in Azerbaijan during December. The food prices rose 5.87%, non-foods prices and services rose 0.49% and 0.28%.

The consumer prices in Baku rose 2.24%, in regions – 1.2%. Annual inflation made 9.92% in the country, including 14.76% - in Baku, 5.17% - in the regions. Food prices in Baku went up 3.68%, in regions - by 8.03%. Non-food prices in Baku and regions soared (0.75% and 0.23%). Services rose 0.34% and 0.22% in Baku and regions.

ERC experts also calculated the minimum consumption basket on December on the basis of norms approved by decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated to April 30, 2012. According to those calculations, per capital minimum consumption basket for able-bodied people made AZN 172.48, for pensioners – AZN 154.64 and for 0-14-aged children – AZN 209.94. Last month, population’s per capital expenditure for food made AZN 106.97, for pensioners – AZN 94.21 and for 0-14-aged children’s parents – AZN 116.15. Non-food expenditures for able-bodied people made AZN 39.98, for pensioners – AZN 37.82 and for 0-14 children – AZN 76.06.
