Baku. Nicat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan entered the top ten in the 2012/2013 Global Competitiveness Index published by the World Economic Forum.
The rating was prepared on gross national savings of 144 countries.
According to APA-Economics, Azerbaijan ranked 8th place with 47.9%. The country is a leader among the CIS countries. Second place went to Kazakhstan in the CIS. In the global rankings, this country was 13th (39.6%). Third place among the CIS countries is occupied by Russia. It took 28th place in a worldwide index.
Other CIS countries are located as follows: Armenia - 77th place with 18.7%, Ukraine – 85th place with 17.5%, Moldova - 104th place with 13.9%, Tajikistan - 111th place with 13.2%.
The top ten global leaders included: Kuwait (59.6%), Qatar (54.3%), Iran (53.8%), East Timor (51.2%), China (51%), Algeria (50.1 %), Mongolia (48%), Azerbaijan (47.9%), Singapore (44.4%), Saudi Arabia (43%).
