 ADB’s loan portfolio on Azerbaijan reaches $1 bn

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. ADB’s current loan portfolio on Azerbaijan stands at $990 mln, Head of the Permanent Mission of the Asian Development Bank in Azerbaijan Olli Noroyono said, APA reports.

 

Noroyono said that Azerbaijan was an important and significant country for ADB: ‘At present, we total loan portfolio on 7 projects in Azerbaijan makes $990 mln. 46% of portfolio covers transport sector, 38% - water supply and sewage system, 16% - energy sectors.

 

He noted that in 2012 ADB provided $1.125-technical aid to Azerbaijan.

 

‘Besides, we funded increasing literacy of civil servants in Azerbaijan. That is, within the framework of different loan projects, we realized participation of 64 government officials in different seminars, trainings and conferences’, added Noroyono.

 

Touching upon ADB’s Business Plan on Azerbaijan, Noroyono said that within the framework of the mentioned Business Plan, it is considered to allocate funds to Azerbaijan in amount of $250 mln in 2012, $155 mln – in 2013, $170 mln – in 2014.  Moreover, in the coming 3 years, the bank will provide $3.250 mln-technical aid to Azerbaijan.
