93% of bank deposits falls to share of capital in Azerbaijan

Baku. Ali Ahmadov – APA-Economics. 93% of total deposits involved by commercial banks operating in Azerbaijan falls to share of Baku, APA-Economics reports. According to CBA, as of January 1 2013, population deposits at country’s banks amounted to AZN 5,113,407.800. AZN 4,754,296.600 of this was invested in the banks. AZN 359,111.200 or 7% of total deposits falls to share of the regions.

 

The most savings are deposited in Absheron economic region. AZN 109,864.700 or 2.15% of total deposit portfolio was placed here. In general, 30% of deposits placed in regions falls to share of Absheron economic region. In other words, except Baku and Absheron, share of deposits placed in other regions is less than 5% from the total deposit portfolio. 

 

As to other regions, AZN 76,006.900 was placed in Ganja-Gazakh (1.5% of total deposit portfolio), AZN 55,154.600 in Aran (1.1%), AZN 27,564,000 in Lankaran, AZN 25,563.00 in Guba-Khachmaz, AZN 24,033.500 in Nakhchivan, AZN 22,596.800 in Shaki-Zagatala, AZN 8,327.300 in Mountainous Shirvan, AZN 8,160.500 in Nagorno Karabakh, AZN 1,839.300 in Kalbajar-Lachin.

 

Average annual rate of deposits across the country makes 8.4%. The highest interest rate on deposits makes 9.2%, the lowest – 3.3%.
