Azersighorta tops ranking of Azeri insurers for 1H08 insurance claim payment

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based insurance companies paid in total AZN 22.01 million for insurance claims during the first half of 2008, up 32.4% on the same period last year.
According to the exact information provided by the Ministry of Finance, Azersighorta State Insurance Company tops the list with AZN 6.19 million, or 28.1% of the total payments or insurance claims.
MBASK (AZN 2.51 million or 11.4%) and A-Group (AZN 2.13million or 9.6%) are among the first three. The three has a share of 49.2% in the total payments. Three insurers (Qarant Sighorta, Amrah Sighorta and Nishan) made no payment for insurance claims.
Absheron rounds out the list with AZN 50 000 (2.27%). APA-Economics prepared a table ranking insurers in terms of premiums earned in the first half.
