The war with Iran is strengthening Russia, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with “United News”.
He noted that the war with Iran has exhausted the United States and depleted Europe’s energy resources. Zelenskyy added that Russia is in a difficult economic situation: “A $100 billion budget deficit cannot be filled by a short war in the Middle East.”
The Ukrainian leader also touched upon China’s position in the ongoing events: “Where will China stand? In such a situation, it is very difficult to play only the role of a mediator. This is a serious energy challenge for everyone. A war in Iran will open the way for a broader aggression that goes beyond the borders of the Middle East,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
He also stated that the war has limited Ukraine’s access to air defense systems.
