Zelenskyy on ceasefire: Putin's statements manipulative

"Putin's statements are yet another Russian manipulation aimed at buying time and avoiding real steps toward peace," President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in his evening address, APA reports citing Ukrinform.

"Right now, we’ve heard very predictable and manipulative words from Putin in response to the idea of a ceasefire. He is essentially preparing a rejection. Putin is afraid to directly tell President Trump that he wants to continue this war and kill Ukrainians. That’s why Moscow is surrounding the idea of a ceasefire with preconditions, making it impossible to achieve or delaying the process for as long as possible. Putin often acts this way — not saying 'no' directly but doing everything to stall and block real solutions. This is yet another Russian manipulation," Zelenskyy said.
