Possible formats for meetings and negotiations at the leadership level aimed at ending Russia’s war were also discussed in the United States, said Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, on his X account, APA reports.
In a post dedicated to the outcomes of the meetings held by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov in the United States, Zelenskyy noted that a prisoner exchange may take place in the near future.
"Today, Rustem Umerov briefed me on the outcomes of his meetings with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Importantly, America remains engaged in diplomacy and, in particular, has acted as a mediator on the issue of a prisoner exchange. Contacts are ongoing at the appropriate level to hammer out the configuration of the exchange," he emphasized.
