President Vladimir Zelensky instructed to develop a bill on changing the system of military training with the possibility of ending conscription from January 1, 2024, APA reports citing News Read Online.
The corresponding presidential decree No. 36/2022 was published on the website of the head of state.
The document also provides for a gradual transition to the formation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a professional basis. In particular, the introduction of an intensive military training system model as a possible alternative form of military service and the termination of conscription of Ukrainian citizens for military service from January 1, 2024.
