The three-hour rain was so intense that flash floods quickly enveloped many streets of Bodrum in MuÄŸla district, an Aegean resort town, causing huge phsyical damage in a district that is closing its tourism season, Today Zaman reported.
The damage was mostly visible in Åžakir and Dere street, where at least 20 cars were dragged away by flash floods. Access to streets was blocked due to the floods.
Dozens of houses and businesses were flooded, causing physical damage. Residents complained about urban restructuring that led to the floods. At least eight people who were injured as a result of the incident were taken to Bodrum State Hospital.
