"David Cameron’s invitation to Britain today of the Egyptian president and coup leader Abdel Fatah al-Sisi shows contempt for human and democratic rights and threatens, rather than protects, Britain’s national security," the statement, issued before the Prime Minister's Questions in the House of Commons, read.
Sisi overthrew then-President Mohamed Morsi in 2013 in a military coup and has been repeatedly accused of human rights violations by international advocacy organizations and foreign governments.
