Active Shooter Aims at Police in San Diego

The shooter has barricaded himself inside an apartment building in the Bankers Hill neighborhood, and is firing with a long-range rifle. According to FAA spokesman Ian Gregor, the apartment complex is directly beneath the airport's approach path, in the 2400 block of Brant Street, and a "full ground stop" has been implemented.

San Diego International is the only major US airport with only one active runway, so delays will be substantial.

"Due to police activity near the airport, a ground stop is in effect for all arriving aircraft. ACheck with your airline before coming to SAN," the airport said in a statement.
