If health measures are implemented and solidarity is demonstrated among all countries, the hantavirus outbreak spreading on a cruise ship is expected to remain limited in scale, the World Health Organization said, APA reports.
According to the WHO, a total of three people have died and eight infections have been recorded as a result of the hantavirus outbreak on the cruise ship, five of which have been confirmed through laboratory analysis.
It was reported that the cruise ship carrying approximately 150 passengers is heading toward Spain’s Canary Islands. Passengers are being kept isolated in their cabins.
