The UN will welcome a ceasefire if it can be achieved in the conflict in Ukraine, and hopes that it will develop into a long-term peace, said head of the world organization Antonio Guterres, APA reports citing TASS.
"Of course, we will welcome the ceasefire in Ukraine. Too many people have died. A ceasefire is, indeed, a positive thing, and we hope that it will materialize and we hope that it will pay the way for peace, a just peace. And you know what are the parameters that we consider relevant for a just peace: the Charter, international law and the resolutions of the General Assembly," he told reporters.
