According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, in Kiev they completely exclude the receipt of a special status for the Donbass with the so-called “veto right”, which would allow the regional authorities to block the strategic decisions of the Ukrainian government, APA reports citing GamingDeputy.
He stressed that there would be no such special status as Russia wants.
In an interview with Rzeczpospolita, Kuleba said that no region of the country would have the right to veto national decisions. He explained that the country’s authorities are now carrying out a reform to decentralize power and are ready to work on the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
The Ukrainian minister recalled that the Minsk agreements begin with security issues, and the political part is only in second place. “Therefore, everyone should first of all focus on security,” Kuleba concluded.
