Ukraine and Germany have agreed to expand cooperation in unmanned technologies. The countries will work on the joint development and production of drones of various ranges, including up to 1500 km, «Суспільне» reports.
The new agreement was announced by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius during his visit to Ukraine.
According to him, Ukrainian and German companies are already working on joint projects in the field of unmanned systems. This includes the creation of both tactical drones with a range of up to 100 km and long-range systems capable of covering up to 1500 km.
Additionally, Berlin plans to join Brave1 — a defense innovation platform that supports the development and testing of new military technologies.
Pistorius noted that the development of long-range unmanned systems is key to deterring attacks by Russia on Ukrainian military infrastructure.
He said that, if used en masse, such systems can effectively detect and destroy the enemy's air defense assets.
Germany is also interested in leveraging Ukrainian experience of modern warfare. In particular, the German side is studying command-and-control systems and practices used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recall, Ukraine and Sweden may sign contracts for the delivery of Gripen aircraft.
