"Our position is very clear. We have stated for many years that we are in favor of living in peace, dialogue, and prosperity within the framework of the Montreux Agreement with the countries bordering the Black Sea," Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said, APA's local bureau reports.
"As Turkey, we have done our part regarding the dialogue in the Black Sea. We have a dialogue both with Russia and Ukraine on the other. "We have also fulfilled and will continue to fulfill all our obligations to NATO," he stated.
Akar noted that the escalation of tensions could pose a serious threat: "As Turkey, we call on all parties to cooperate and dialogue."
