NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has condemned Russia's decision to withdraw from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, according to a tweet from the NATO chief, APA reports.
"I condemn Russia's unilateral decision to withdraw from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, despite the efforts by our Ally Türkiye and the UN. Russia's illegal war against Ukraine continues to harm millions of vulnerable people around the world," he wrote.
Note that the Russian government on Monday said that it is allowing a deal struck to allow the export of Ukrainian grain to expire. The agreement, brokered by Türkiye and the United Nations in July 2022, is officially set to expire at 5 p.m. ET on Monday (midnight local time in Istanbul, Kyiv, and Moscow).
