UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has said he is taking responsibility after the “very difficult” election results held last week in order “not to drag the country into chaos and not to retreat,”The Guardian reports.
The Prime Minister accepted responsibility in his statement.
“I accept responsibility. This is not only responsibility for the results, but also responsibility for the Labour Party to work better,” he noted.
Starmer warned that if the party fails to correct the situation, the country could face serious risks: “If the Labour Party does not get this right, our country will go down a very dark path.”
The Prime Minister also highlighted some of the government’s achievements. He stated that there has been progress in the healthcare and social sectors.
Starmer noted that these steps have created economic stability and are preparing the country in a stronger position for future challenges.
