Russia delivers its strongest strike on Ukraine’s energy system since start of year

On the night of February 3, Russia carried out its most powerful strike on Ukraine’s energy system since the beginning of the year, APA reports.

This was stated in a post on the Telegram channel of Ukraine’s DTEK energy company.

According to the report, the massive strikes damaged a significant number of Ukraine’s power generation and distribution facilities, with the country’s energy system operating under severe restrictions.

“The attacks targeted combined heat and power plants and thermal power plants in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro. In addition, the company’s facilities in the Odesa region were hit by missiles and drones,” the company said.

As a result of the Russian attack, tens of thousands of people were left without electricity.

DTEK also noted that due to another Russian strike, power supply was cut on the left bank of Kyiv, particularly in the Dniprovskyi and Darnytskyi districts, while scheduled outages were introduced on the right bank of the city.
