Baku-APA. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Thursday met with visiting Turkish Grand National Assembly Speaker Cemil Cicek on bilateral ties, APA reports.
During the meeting, Yanukovych said the good relations and communication between the law-making bodies of Ukraine and Turkey is an important part of bilateral relations.
"The regular meetings of the Strategic Council between Ukraine and Turkey have established appropriate dynamics of our mutual relations and political dialogue," Yanukovych said.
Cicek's visit to Ukraine will contribute to the deepening of the relations between the two countries in the spirit of strategic partnership, Yanukovych said.
The Ukrainian president conveyed greetings to his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul and extended invitation to him to visit Kiev.
For his part, Cicek stressed that ties between Ukraine and Turkey have reached a strategic level.
On Thursday, Cicek also held talks with Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Rybak.
Cicek arrived in Kiev on Thursday for a two-day official visit.
