Baku. Victoria Dementeva – APA. The U.S. announced that it is seeking membership of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe. The decision on membership will be taken by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on February 13, APA reports.
The Venice Commission – acts as the Council of Europe's advisory body on constitutional matters. If adopted by the Venice Commission, the U.S would be the 12th non-European member country of this organization.
