Ukraine has asked Türkiye to host a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Interfax Ukraine reports.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Ukraine had appealed to Türkiye and several other capitals to host a possible meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin.
Sybiha excluded Minsk and Moscow as venues for such a meeting.
“We asked the Turks and several other capitals about this. We specifically appealed to Türkiye. But if any capital other than Moscow and Belarus hosts such a meeting, we will go. This is important for us,” Sybiha added.
