I know that last year Ukraine was one of those interested in us not getting the candidate status, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili told journalists, APA reports citing Interpressnews
According to Gharibashvili, this was confirmed by many European leaders.
"All this is understandable, their motivation is also understandable. I also know that last year Ukraine was one of those interested in us not getting the candidate status. Unfortunately, this is the reality. Many of our European leaders confirmed this to me. This is a very sad fact. I respect the Ukrainian people very much, I love them very much. I want to wish them once again peace, reunification of the country. I still believe that all this is a temporary thing and will end very soon," said the Prime Minister.
