According to the publication, the German National Security Council, chaired by Chancellor Friedrich Merz, discussed the possible participation of the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) in an international mission to ensure navigation security in the Strait of Hormuz. These decisions are based on Merz's earlier statements at a conference in Paris. According to these statements, Germany is prepared to make a contribution, which could specifically include the provision of mine-sweeping vessels and reconnaissance assets.
