The unemployment rate in Germany declined slightly to 5.1% in January compared to the previous month, topping market estimates, according to a report published by the Federal Statistical Office on Tuesday, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The number of employed persons increased by 49,000 or 0.1% last month, however, the total number of employed remained below pre-crisis levels. On an annual basis, the number of people in employment increased by 1.1%, or 483,000 people.
