Georgian gov't ready to reset relations with U.S. and Europe - Georgian Dream

Tbilisi Mayor and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party Kakha Kaladze has stated that the Georgian government is ready to reset relations with the United States and Europe, APA reports citing Georgian Public Broadcatser.

Kaladze noted that the past three years have been particularly challenging; however, the public has gained a clearer understanding of the difficulties the country has faced.

“We have repeatedly expressed our willingness to normalize relations. We have defended our national interests throughout this time, ensuring that Georgia is not used for external agendas. These three years have been difficult—there were direct threats and blackmail, which continue today—but we stood firm with the people, acted on principle, and explained the real challenges facing the country. The public understood and supported us. Together, we avoided a major crisis,” Kaladze said.

The Tbilisi Mayor expressed hope that relations with the West would improve following the defeat of the "Deep State".

“The U.S. President has announced the defeat of the Deep State. We hope this will also be reflected in Georgia—not just in words, but through concrete steps and actions—allowing us to reset relations, including strategic partnerships, on a new foundation,” Kaladze stated.
