The Council of the European Union has imposed sanctions on Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, Prosecutor General Mohammad Movahedi-Azad and regional commanders of the IRGC, APA reports, citing the European Union website.
15 individuals and 6 entities have been sanctioned.
According to the information, the sanctions were justified by "serious human rights violations in Iran" during the recent protests.
In addition, sanctions were imposed on 4 individuals and 6 entities for military assistance to Russia.
