A case of the dangerous dengue virus has been detected in Georgia, Ivane Chkhaidze, Medical Director of the Iashvili Central Children's Hospital announced, APA’s local bureau reports.
According to him, dengue was confirmed in one person last week.
Chkhaidze did not disclose information about the condition of the infected individual.
It should be noted that dengue fever is a virus transmitted through mosquito bites and is widespread in tropical and subtropical regions around the world. The virus was also recorded in Georgia in 2013, 2016, and 2017.
