Cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed through laboratory testing in Georgia over the past three weeks, Ivane Chkhaidze, Medical Director of the Iashvili Central Children's Hospital, told local media, APA's Georgia bureau reports.

According to him, although the figures are low, they indicate that the coronavirus is still present.

Chkhaidze noted that currently viruses that cause mild and non-serious cases predominate in Georgia.

“The number of hospital visits related to viral infections is gradually decreasing. We expect the number of visits to decline further in July and August,” he added.
