A blast was heard on Monday near the Russian consulate in the French southern port city of Marseille and firemen were at the site, APA reports citing foreign media.
Firefighters and police were reported to have arrived at the scene of the explosion.
Russia’s consul general in Marseille Stanislav Oranskiy confirmed to La Marseillaise that the explosion took place at the consulate and that there were no casualties.
According to BFMTV, a Molotov cocktail was probably thrown. A correspondent for Valeurs Actuelles reported that a stolen car was found near the scene of the accident.
Commenting on the incident, Russian media recalled that the Foreign Intelligence Service had recently released information that Ukraine could carry out a series of terrorist acts to disrupt the talks.
